Come Celebrate Life!

Kingfisher Regional Hospital, the Kingfisher County Health Department, and the Kingfisher Times Free and Press are encouraging residents of the hospital’s service area to celebrate life. The hospital is co-sponsoring a 10 week program dedicated to promoting healthier lifestyles, which can be achieved by taking advantage of the many resources Kingfisher County has to offer.

Each week, since January 28, a different area resident who has started down the path to healthier living - using resources and services available in Kingfisher County – will be featured in the newspaper. The newspaper will also publish stories about stress and weight management, tobacco cessation, heart health, smart shopping, bone health, nutrition for children, and other lifestyle issues.

The 10 week program is slated to continue through April 1st and will end with a community wide celebration of life, to be co-hosted by KRH on April 4. Family friendly, educational and special interest programs and activities also are planned throughout the 10 week program. KRH’s Diane Minnis, registered dietician wrote a feature article on nutrition/ wellness and Erin Scammahorn, KRH physical therapist will be working with the seniors, March 7. March 14; join the Kingfisher Rotary Club with their fun run; March 21st, swim at the aquatic center; March 28, Ronald McDonald will host a healthy fit lifestyle program then plan on walking the Kingfisher Trails; and April 4 , our biggest weight loss celebration.
