Kingfisher Regional Hospital Hires New CEO

The Kingfisher Regional Hospital Board of Trustees recently met and appointed Mrs. Nancy Schmid as the hospital’s new chief executive officer. Mr. Steve Jacobson has been serving as interim hospital CEO since January 4, 2010. Board President Gerald Knecht said, “Mrs. Schmid brings a wealth of hospital experience to this position, and is committed to making physician, patient, and employee satisfaction a high priority.” Quorum Health Resources (QHR) conducted a national search for this position, and worked closely with the board to identify the right candidate for our hospital as well as the community. Schmid will begin her duties as CEO on March 29, 2010. Schmid, stated “I’m excited to begin my new duties and I look forward to working with the physicians, the employees and getting to know each of you in the community.”

Prior coming to KRH, Schmid has held several Administrative/ CEO positions, recently in Colorado and Utah since 1987. She holds a masters in public administration from the University of Utah and a masters of arts emphasizing health administration from Brigham Young University.

Schmid and her husband have been married 24 years. They have 3 children ranging in ages 16 years old down to 3.

A community "Welcome Reception" will be held in their honor, Tuesday, March 23rd, 5:30-7 PM in the main lobby of the hospital. The public is invited to attend.
