The American Cancer Society’s “Look Good … Feel Better “ Program is slated to begin at Kingfisher Regional Hospital, Tuesday, August 10, 6:30 PM in the KRH board room. Clare Scott, the cosmetology instructor at Chisholm Trail Technology Center is certified with the American Cancer Society to teach this class.
“Look Good … Feel Better” is a non-medical, brand-neutral, national public service program to assist women offset appearance related changes from cancer treatment. Each class typically runs two hours, with hands on activity which includes a 12 step skin care/ make-up application lesson, demonstration of options dealing with hair loss, and nail care techniques. Women who are in different stages of treatment receive make-over tips and personal attention from professionals trained to meet their needs. Ms. Scott, who has taught this class for a number of years is thrilled to begin the program here at home, in Kingfisher. “This program is one of my passions, and I believe in assisting women with cancer look and feel better about themselves while going through treatment,” Says Scott.
