New MRI Delivered at Kingfisher Regional Hospital

Kingfisher Regional Hospital is keeping to its commitment to serve our patients with the best service right here at home. This past month, KRH took receipt for a rather large piece of equipment, a new stationary 1.5 Tesla MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) System.

“It is extremely important to us to have the access for our patients to receive the preventive care, and the chance for early intervention which can change the outcome of any disease. Having a stationary MRI allows us to better serve our community”, states Eddie Payne, KRH radiology supervisor. “Our patients will have the option to have their tests done Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM where before it was only two days a week.”

An MRI is a noninvasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions. This unit offers patients all of the traditional scanning capabilities plus it’s 50% stronger and exponentially better. The test will be administered by a MRI resident who is registered and certified by the American College of Radiology. “We will also be able to provide our emergency only patients, Saturday appointments,” advises, Payne. All of our MRI studies are read by a board certified radiologist, who has had specialized training and experience.
